The adjustable constant current regulator (CCR) is a simple, economical and durable device suitable for providing a cost effective solution for regulating current in LEDs (similar to the constant current diode CCD). The (CCR) is based on self-biasing transistor (SBT) technology and regulates current based on a wide voltage range. It uses a negative temperature coefficient to protect the LED from thermal collapse at extreme voltages and currents. The constant current regulator will turn on immediately, using only 0.5 V Vak for 25% regulation. the Radj pin enables Ireg(SS) to be regulated to higher currents by connecting a resistor between Radj (pin 3) and the cathode (pin 4). The Radj pin can also be left open (unconnected) if no conditions are required. It requires no external components, so it can be designed as a high-side or low-side regulator. The high anode-cathode voltage rating withstands surges common in automotive, industrial, and commercial sign applications. The device is packaged in a high-temperature resistant, lead-free and RoHS compliant package using halogen-free molded laminates. It meets the requirements of the AEC-Q101 standard and is UL94-V0 certified.
