The STMicroelectronics VN5160S-E is an Integrated Power Module (IPM) designed for high-performance, low-voltage, and high-current switching power supply applications. It offers a complete power solution for a wide range of applications, from low power to medium power applications. The product features a switching frequency of up to 400KHz and an integrated control loop. It offers both linear and PWM control modes to enable the user to optimize the output characteristics. Its high current capability and low voltage operation enable it to achieve high efficiency and reliable long-term operation. The STMicroelectronics VN5160S-E is based on the Vicor's 4th generation IPM architecture, featuring both single-coil diode rectification (SCDR) and synchronous rectification (SR) technologies. It is able to control various output voltages and offers high-efficiency (87%) and low output noise. The onboard protection circuitry (including Under Voltage Lock Out, Overvoltage Protection and Over Temperature Protection) ensures the module is robust and reliable. This IPM allows for the optimisation of thermal performance and cost for AC/DC and DC/DC applications.
