STMicroelectronics VIPER100 is a low-power high-performance three-phase brushless DC motor driver designed to operate from a wide range of a supply voltage between 10 V and 28 V. It is capable of driving a variety of motors, including brushless, DC Permanent Magnet and Torque motors. The device offers energy-saving features such as a peak current and power limiting and an on- board power-loss comparator. The high-power output current rating and high- frequency PWM modulation (up to 20 kHz) enables applications that require very compact motor size and high switching frequency. The highly integrated and programmable IC also features programmable slice on/off and maximum motor speed control. It also offers various protection features including over- temperature, short-circuit, reverse battery and over-voltage protection. It is available in a variety of widely used packages, making it an ideal choice for industries such as Automotive, Home Appliances, Robotics and Industrial Automation.
